Between Classes and Clients: My Simple Freelance Story

Balancing my life as a student and a freelance social media marketer has been one of the most unexpected journeys I’ve taken. It started very simply — just curiosity, a love for content, and the wish to earn something on my own. But as the journey grew, it became both exciting and a little heavy at times.

When I began, I didn’t know whether I could actually manage studies and clients together. But slowly, with small steps, things changed. I got my first client, then another, and over time I worked with about four clients from different niches. Each one taught me something new — how brands think, how audience behaviour changes, how important consistency is, and how patience is actually the strongest tool in digital marketing.

But freelancing is not always smooth. Recently, I’ve been facing a common issue: not getting new clients. It’s one of the toughest parts because no matter how hard you try, sometimes responses don’t come, and you start doubting yourself. As a student, this adds extra pressure because I still have assignments, classes, and exams — and balancing everything can get mentally tiring.

Still, this journey has given me confidence. I’ve learned how to talk to clients, create strategies, grow pages, and even say “no” when needed. Every failure or delay feels like a lesson, and every small growth keeps me going.

Being a student and a freelancer at the same time isn’t perfect, but it’s real, and it’s shaping me into a better version of myself. I believe that with consistency and patience, I’ll continue improving — and hopefully find more clients who believe in my work.

Most importantly, I’m enjoying this journey and learning so many things every day — from skills to life lessons. It’s been challenging, but it’s also truly rewarding.
